sewing question
Nov. 21st, 2007 09:52 amBefore I can take on the 12th Night project list I have to fix my T-front/campfrau dress so I'll have something to wear to Boar Hunt and Jingles.
The bodice is bagging slightly under the bust and the skirt hem is more than slightly uneven.
To take the bodice in I had to separate it from the skirt. In the process I figured out why the skirt hem is uneven.
It was a total DUH moment. There is nothing wrong with the skirt. The bodice front is a few inches longer than the back. You think I might have noticed that when I was making it, but noooo.
So should I even out the bodice or fight with the skirt? I'm a little afraid of making the bodice too short waisted as it is already fairly high. OTOH it would probably be harder to adjust 4 yards of already guarded and pleated skirt than 15" of un-boned bodice.
Any advice? I know it is hard to judge without pictures but there aren't any that I know of.
